When consulting the local community in Kailahun, education was top of the list when asked the question: "What will improve your life the most?"
As a result of this, KIK feels it is important to look at how we can respond to this need. One of the biggest problems seems to be the lack of qualified teachers in Kailahun. The majority of teaching is undertaken by unqualified teachers.
KIK is currently looking at ways of sponsoring a teacher training programme.
